JOB STANDARDS:
Minimum Faculty Qualifications
A master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours (or equivalent) in healthcare management courses is required.
Electronic health records and medical coding certification, training, or experience is preferred.
A minimum of two years of work experience in healthcare management, medical coding, or electronic medical records management is preferred.
Teaching experience, especially in a community college environment, is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Aid Counselor, Extended Campuses, provides excellent customer service and guidance to diverse groups of both traditional and non-traditional students and their families throughout the financial aid process; and supports students at our extended campuses with financial aid questions both virtually and in person. Regular travel among campuses will be required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide guidance throughout the financial aid process to prospective, new, and current students and their families. Evaluate students’ Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Counsel students regarding file completion, repercussions of drops/withdrawals, SAP appeals. Maintain knowledge of polices of other departments (registrar. Bursar, human resources, admissions, etc.) and understand the impact of their processing on a student’s financial aid eligibility. Utilize conflict resolution skill sets to ensure student financial aid issues are resolved in a friendly and professional manner while assisting students with understanding their financial aid situation and potential solutions. Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract. Regularly check your VSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist program. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate level teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay Rate: $675 - $800 per credit hour
