Global Cloud Alliances Security Architect

Job Description

Role:

The SUSE Global Cloud Director, Security Architect will lead, design and implement the Cloud Service Provider technical enablement journey to enable SUSE ecosystem community with security solutions such as NeuVector.

NeuVector delivers cloud-native, automated protection for Kubernetes and OpenShift environments with the industry's only packet-level interrogation and enforcement. NeuVector customers include global leaders in financial services, healthcare, transportation, publishing and other industries. NeuVector partners with Alibaba, AWS, Docker, Google Cloud, IBM, Microsoft Azure, Rancher, Red Hat, and others. Founded by industry veterans from Fortinet, VMware, and Trend Micro, NeuVector has developed patent-pending behavioral learning for container security.

You will lead the technical strategy for our global cloud alliance partnerships driving program technical road map, solution design and implementation, priority customer engagement and technical messaging both internally and externally.  You will have responsibility for identifying and providing gap analysis of technology and documentation while defining how to use SUSE technologies to solve new or different problems and assist with messaging.  This lead role will work as part of a multi-functional team across product management, engineering, cloud solution architects, sales, and marketing to ensure that our technical enablement is in alignment with SUSE security offerings for cloud.

You will be a technical expert with intense hands-on capability to create reference architecture and demos based on use cases, as well as have the ability to clearly articulate our technical differentiators with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. You will also be a contributor to documentation, and marketing and training content.

Focus Area:

  • Experience in managing Container security with tools such as NeuVector, Aqua, Sysdig.

  • Broad Kubernetes skills, Linux containers, container management, security, along with operational best-practice expertise. Knowledge of continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD) tools would be an advantage

  • Experience in DevSecOps best practices

  • Broad understanding of the surrounding 1st and 3rd party cloud ecosystem

  • Implementation experience with at least two of the 3 primary Cloud Service Providers; AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

  • Knowledgeable of the various cloud deployment approaches including public, private, managed, and hybrid cloud variants

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supporting technical, sales and/or partner-led sales of enterprise applications and cyber-security solutions

  • Expertise in Ecosystem, Solution, and Architecture disciplines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required to influence technical, business, and executive audiences

  • Proficiency for leading customer presentations, group meetings, and technical deep dive sessions

  • Ability to create content for both sales and technical purposes

  • Proactive and results oriented; conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure

  • Flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and the initiative to take on difficult challenges

  • Excels in a dynamic and collaborative team environment

  • Ability to elicit functional and non-functional requirements as needed to scope solution opportunities combining oftware and and services components

  • Education and Certification

  • S. / M.S. in Computer Sciences, I.T., Engineering, or equivalent required

  • SUSE or Red Hat certification preferred

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect and/or alternate Cloud Service Provider equivalent preferred

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ Experience with Security platforms (CASB, SASE) and CDN a must.

  • 5+ Experience in API Security, Forward Proxy, Network Firewall

  • 5+ Experience building, replicating and automating systems in Azure, GCP, and AWS

  • Experience with cloud instrumentation and configuration management tools for deployment such as GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.

  • Experience with WASM, Cloudflare Workers and Vagrant a major plus.

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Datadog and Grafana

  • CI/CD experience (automate build and test pipelines with GitOps, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives

  • Manage effectively up, down, and across an organization, including global teams

  • Skilled in holding people accountable, establishing high standards of excellence, and stretching their abilities to perform their best work

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years in Computer Science, EE or equivalent experience.

The Total Target Compensation (TTC) for this role is $200,000-$250,000 (base + bonus/commission). The TTC may vary depending upon experience and job qualifications. Certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
